clinic scheduled for December 11 The musher rabies shot clinic for this season is scheduled for Dec 11, Sunday @ Knik Bar, Knik Lake, Alaska. Noon to 4pm. $6.00 per shot. We always need volunteers. We hope we'll be able to pay for lunch or breakfast at the bar for the volunteers this year. Things go faster if mushers bring dog info to transfer to the certificates: male or female, age (3 mo to 12 mo or 12 mo or older, size (under 20 lbs, 20 - 50 lbs, over 50 lbs), predominant breed, name, colors. We also need Musher's phone/e-mail and address. If musher's last name is A thru M, come at earlier times. If N thru Z, come at later time. Sheep Mountain 150
sled dog race field full at 50 teams A full-field of 50 teams has signed up for the 2011 Sheep Mountain 150 sled dog race. A waitlist has been started for additional teams beyond the 50-team limit. The Sheep Mountain 150 is a 150-mile sled dog race to be held December 17-18, 2011.

Slated for January 27 – February 4, 2012 Jackson, Wyoming – July 20, 2011 – The 2012 International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race (IPSSSDR) is slated for January 27 – February 4, 2012, announced Race Director Frank Teasley. The race is currently accepting applications for its roster limited to 25 teams. Election Meeting In May The annual membership meeting of the Upper Peninsula Sled Dog Association will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 6pm at the Holiday Inn. Three board members will be elected to serve three-year terms, ending in 2014. Terms for Pat Torreano, Cathy Egerer and Linda Storms are ending but they are eligible to be re-elected for another term, should they choose to run. To be eligible to vote, or if someone wants to be considered for a position on the board, they must be a member of the UPSDA. Race Conway Seavey finished just 6 seconds ahead of Alea Robinson. It was truly a competition to the finish line with both of the front runners switching lead position over the 28 mile return trail. Alea's close finish was especially commendable since she had to drop a dog at the half-way layover, finishing with just seven dogs to Conway's eight. of mail by dogteam throughout Canada. While the new stamp won’t be released until May 2011,
the Gold Rush Dog Sled Mail Run offered a sneak
peek at the image that will make up the stamp.
North Hope Sled Dog Center, in the north-east of Kostroma Region,
Russia, is holding a drawing contest for kids called
"Sled Dogs Through Kids Eyes" The goal of the contest is to give kids a chance to express
themselves, to share their inner creative views on the world through drawing
sled dogs and open the tiny doors of their shy but talented hearts to the
big world. Open to children of all countries. 27th Annual Seguin Dog Sled Mail Run Every year since 1985, envelopes with letters prepared
especially for this event, are gathered, loaded onto sleds and several dog
teams haul it to Rosseau, Ontario, 17 km through the bush on groomed trails.

Skijoring Championship Purse Confirmed Skijor USA is proud to announce the purse for the first
annual National Skijoring Championship has been confirmed at $1,200.00. The
purse will be split evenly among female and male competitors in skijoring
