K300 to Raise Purses
for ALL 2016 Races!!
7/26/15 | Zach Fansler |
K300
The Kuskokwim 300 Race Committee is please and excited to
announce that they will once again be raising the purses for all 2016 K300
races!
For the third time in four years, the purse for the
Kuskokwim 300, Bogus Creek 150 and Akiak Dash will all be raised! The purse
for the 2016 K300 will now exceed a record breaking $130,000. Additionally,
the Bogus Creek 150 will pay over $30,000 in total prize money and the Akiak
Dash purse will be raised to at least $15,000.
In addition to raising the purses for the three marquee
races, the K300 will also be raising the purses for all local races
including the Holiday Classic, the 100 Mile Challenge, the February 50 and
the Camp-Out Race. The purses for these races will increase from $10,000 to
over $12,000 for each race.
Purse breakdowns by position will be officially released
later this year. The 2016 K300 will start on Friday, January 15. For any
questions regarding this or any other press release please contact K300 race
manager Zach Fansler at 907.545.3300.
K300 To Support Mushers
affected by the Sockeye Fires
7/26/15 | Zach Fansler |
K300
The K300 Race Committee will be helping any mushers affected
by last month's Sockeye fires by contributing $200 worth of feed to each
team. The K300 is dedicated to promoting, growing and supporting the sport
of Dog Mushing.
Accordingly the K300 would like to reach out and support any
mushers that were affected by these terrible fires. Mushers who have been
displaced or affected by the fires should contact Race Manager Zach Fansler
at 907.545.3300 or by emailing k300@k300.org
for more details regarding the logistics of this help.
