Notes Discover the thrill and camaraderie of sled dog sports with the Colorado Mountain Mushers as we partner with State Forest State Park and Colorado Parks and Wildlife to host our first ever sled dog race amongst the backdrop of the Never Summer Range. This Non-traditional winter event seeks to combine the spirit of adventure with the love of snow dogs in a two-day event on the 9th and 10th of March. This event will utilize existing mutli-use trails in State Forest State Park out of the Seven Utes Parking area and encompass trails between this area and the Moose Visitors Center. Most events will be conducted using dog sleds with one event for skijoring. Distances for events will range from 4 to 12 miles. Dogs and Mushers are training up for these events with anticipation, enthusiasm, and excitement of showing off a season’s worth of accomplishments.
