Bev Stroh Obituary

January 1957 - April 2009

A lovely remembrance of Bev from her sister, Sherry, on the UP200 web site:

http://www.up200.org/bevstroh.php

5/4/09
Submitted by Linda Lange, Claudia Nowak

Bev led a very private struggle against kidney disease. After dealing with many medications, a transplant, and finally dialysis, she lost her fight on April 29.

Bev developed and maintained the UP 200/MR/JP web site. She loved mushers and their teams and was a huge supporter of sled dog sports. She was a warm, fun loving, and valiant person.

At Bev's request, cremation will take place and no service will be held.

If you care to send her husband a sympathy card his address is:

Frank Stroh
135 Gun Powder Rd.
Rockwood, TN 37854

Obituary & Guest Book can be found at Evans Mortuary

Mrs. Beverly K. Stroh, age 52, of Gun Powder Road, Rockwood, TN and former resident of Gwinn, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Baptist West Hospital in Knoxville.

She was born January 4, 1957 in Lima, OH. She was a retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant assigned to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI). She attended the Defense Language Institute and became a German Liaison officer/interpreter while assigned at Rhein Main AFB, Frankfurt Germany during Desert Shield/Desert Storm until 1993.

She was selected and awarded the Marquette County of Michigan Law Enforcement Officer of the Year for 1987. She was the Economic Development Officer for the City of Rockwood, former Manager of Marketing and Tourism for Roane County; and former Webmaster for Northern Michigan University.

As an avid supporter of sled dog racing, she designed and maintained the website for the annual “UP 200/Midnite Run” sled dog races. She loved her grandchildren, dogs, cross country skiing and boating. She was preceded in death by her parents, F.H. “Pete” Downhower, Sr. & Muriel Martin Downhower.
