Carol McNeil 12/31/05 Carol McNeil, wife of 30 years to Doug McNeil, owners of Chatmac Harness Shop in Ontario, passed away December 30, 2005 after a courageous 8 month battle with cancer. Carol was well known on the international sprint circuit as Doug's number one supporter in his rise to the top in the 4 dog sprint class. Carol was actively involved in the Chatmac business & most of the Chatmac harnesses in use today were made by Carol. Doug has spent the last 8 months supporting Carol in her fight against cancer. The funeral is arranged for Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at the David McLoud Funeral Home in Waterloo, Ontario. 519-888-7700 1/1/06 Death in the Dogsledding Family It is with great sadness that I must pass on to you the message I just received from Doug McNeil that his wife Carol passed away on Friday morning (Dec 30), final succumbing to her battle with cancer. As you know, Doug and Carol had closed the Chatmac dogsledding business in early 2005 and made the move up to northern Ontario. Just after settling in, Carol was diagnosed with widespread cancer and started undergoing Chemo and Radiation treatment. To many of us in the dogsledding community, Carol will be sadly missed. She will always be remembered as the voice at the end of the telephone, and as a key player in the Chatmac business team. Her talents and skill are woven into every sled dog harness that we will now fondly treasure. top of page | home | feedback | search |
