Grant from The North Face Explore Fund
The North Face opens voting on Facebook to give away grants to non-profits focused on youth. DULUTH, MN – JUNE 18, 2014As part of the $250,000 Explore Fund, The North Face has named Positive Energy for Youth (Positive Energy Outdoors) a 2014 Top 10 Explore Fund grantee recipient for its Low-Moderate Income Outdoor Education Outreach. Positive Energy for Youth has been chosen to receive up to $25,000 from The North Face Explore Fund, and is the only finalist from the Midwest. Beginning today, The North Face invites its community to vote on http://www.thenorthface.com/en_US/get-outdoors/explorefund/ and The North Face Facebook Page for the organization of their choice, giving fans a chance to be directly involved in supporting a great cause. The Explore Fund’s mission is to inspire and enable the next generation of explorers by funding non-profit organizations that are working to connect children with nature. By encouraging an active healthy lifestyle and protection of our natural landscapes, a stronger connection of youth to the outdoors can be nurtured. Positive Energy encourages people and animal powered exploration of the outdoors. Programs emphasize teamwork, healthy risk taking, and positive communication, creating learning opportunities that can lead to a lifetime of active adventures. In 2014, Positive Energy proudly celebrates its 10th anniversary! Positive Energy was selected from more than 350 applications submitted in 2014 because of the unique, high quality outdoor education opportunities the organization provides for youth in its community, including dog sledding, rock and ice climbing, driving draft horses kayaking and stand up paddleboarding (SUP).
