Quest Rookie Workshop to be Held October 8th
2010 Yukon Quest Rookie Workshop to be Held October 8th September 23, 2010 (Fairbanks, Alaska) – The Yukon Quest will hold its 2010 Rookie Workshop in Fairbanks on Friday, October 8th at the ADMA Sled Dog Symposium in Pioneer Park from 10AM – 4PM. The event will bring together the first-ever Yukon Quest Champion, the current Yukon Quest Champion, two four-time Yukon Quest Champions, the 2010 Rookie of the Year, the 2010 Vet’s Choice Recipient, and the current Iditarod Champion. As you can see, the 2010 Yukon Quest Rookie Workshop has the best line up to-date! Mushers in attendance will include; Ken Anderson, Josh Cadzow, Sonny Lindner, Lance Mackey, Hugh Neff, Brent Sass, Abbie West, Terry Williams, and Gerry Willomitzer. They will share their experiences to help rookie mushers prepare to run 1,000 miles through the Northern wilderness. Mushers will discuss the trail, mental health, dog care, physical health, food drops, handlers, training, avoiding difficult situations on the trail, and rookie runs. Dr. Margy Eastman, DVM, will also be on hand to discuss veterinary requirements and the International Vet Team that will be on the trail. The Rookie Workshop is free to all interested, but space is limited to only 50 seats. All registered 2011 Yukon Quest Rookies will have priority. Reserve seating will only be available for those who call ahead to reserve a spot.
