New transport rules for pet animals
in the European Union
New transport rules for pet animals in the European Union may jeopardize European Sleddog Sports I want to inform you about new transport rules for pet animals in the European union. It is maybe the death of the European sleddog sport. We have a new rule start May 6th 2010, we can travel only with 5 dogs per person. When you want to go with more than 5 dogs, you need a special health certification from your district vet 24 hours before you are starting and you have to tell them, where you go. When you arrive the race or training place, you have to go the district vet and he control the chip numbers and the health of the dogs. It is not possible to go from one country to another country. For example: I go from Austria to Italy and after this, I want to go from Italy to Germany - it's not possible. For more details see the attached letter sent by ESDRA President, Lars Svanfeld to the headquarters of the European Union.
