Alert: Assembly Bill #363 5/11/05 ACT IMMEDIATELY: GOOD DOG OWNERS INSURANCE BILL This bill will protect you from insurance companies who refuse to write policies, refuse to renew policies and/or charge increased premiums for dog owners. As the years go by, it has become increasingly difficult for dog owners to either obtain homeowners insurance and/or they have faced extremely high premiums. Both the Dog Federation of Wisconsin and the AKC strongly support Assembly Bill 363 which will prevent such discrimination, as they prohibit insurers from refusing to issue, renew or cancel homeowners insurance based on the breed of dog a person may own. We strongly urge every individual, club, dog related organization, to join us in supporting this piece of legislation. There are a number of ways to contact your elected representatives; phone, email, snail mail or in person. The most expedient and painless manner is to phone (toll-free) the WI Legislative Hotline as follows: You may leave messages for any legislator with the Legislative Hotline. The Hotline operators will take messages only for the Senator or Representative for the district in which you live. If you do not know the name of your state Senator or Representative, they can locate that information.
