Trail Groomers
Here are three photos of a drag I built. I modeled it after the YTS Compaction drag.
The yellow frame is salvaged from a dismantled industrial racking system. Cutters are steel angle with cutting plates bolted to them. It is about 4.5 feet wide and almost 7 feet long (excluding the tongue). Works well, but its best to let the snow settle or run over it once with a machine before trying to pull it through fresh deep snow. Requires some weight on the front end of the snowmobile to get around tight corners, but you can back it up. Might be nice to put a snow comb under the compaction plate in the back, but it tracks well without it. Mike S. [back to Trail Groomers Index] top of page | home | feedback | search |
