UP200 Dryland Dash accepting team registrations until Monday
The Upper Peninsula Sled Dog Association in partnership with the Wisconsin Trailblazers Sled Dog Club will host the 8th annual UP200 Dryland Dash on October 12 and 13, 2024.
Race starts at 9:00 a.m. EST both mornings at the Negaunee Township Park, which is located at 42 M35 in Negaunee, MI 49866. Driver's meeting is at 8 a.m. EST on Saturday. The event will feature races for wheeled rigs, scooters, bikes and canicross with 1, 2, 4 and 6-dog teams competing on a 2.2 mile loop. Juniors will run the 1 mile trail.
The two day time will be totaled to determine winners of the $2000 cash purse.
•All Breed Pro: This is for people running any breed of dog at a competitive level.
•RNB Pro: This is for anyone running a Registered Nordic Breed dog (registered Siberian Huskies, Malamute Huskies, etc). Paperwork proving this is a registered nordic breed dog must be available.
•Sport: This is for people running for the first time or any non-competitive mushers.
All competitors must have a Wisconsin Trailblazers Sled Dog Club Membership. Membership can be purchased when you register for the race.
Camping is available at race site, $15 per night per site. Register for camping through here [Linked article below] but payments for camping will be collected on-site at the event by the host organization.
Don't forget to get your ISDRA membership so you can get points! This an ISDRA Sanctioned event. If you do NOT have an ISDRA membership you must pay a $6 fee/class.
