Streepers have one-two finish in Fairbanks
Buddy and Lina Streeper continued their outstanding 2018 season with a one-two finish in the GCI Open North American Championship Sled Dog Race in Fairbanks, Alaska this weekend.
Buddy finished the three-day race in 235 minutes and 30 seconds, while Lina had a time of 237 minutes. Lina was third headed into the final day, and posted the fastest time on Sunday with a time of 97 minutes and 25 seconds to move up a spot.
“It was awesome, never has a Kennel had that much dominance and it’s great,” Buddy said.
It was redemption for Buddy, who finished second in this race a year ago. The win in Fairbanks comes on the heels of him winning the Fur Rendezvous Open World Championship in Anchorage on Feb. 25. He also finished second in that race in 2017.
