Nicolas Petit wins Copper Basin 300
Iditarod musher Nicolas Petit has claimed victory in the Copper Basin 300 sled dog race for a second year in a row.
According to the race's website, Petit crossed the finish line in Glenallen at 7:39 a.m. Monday, completing the race in one day, 21 hours and 15 minutes.
The 300 mile event, which started Saturday morning in Gakona, includes checkpoints along the Glenn and Richardson Highways before looping back to the Old Paths Baptist Church in Glenallen.
