Norway had a long winter with lots of snow that attracted tourists from far and wide, and many apparently wanted to go dog-sledding. After a record-breaking season, it seems a majority of visitors want dogs to carry them over the tundra.
“We’ve had the best winter season ever,” Ida Nilseng of Husky Tours at Sjusjøen told newspaper Nationen. “It started as early as October, and with this year’s enormous amounts of snow, we’ll be offering dog-sledding tours until the middle of May.”
She’s not alone in setting a record within her niche in the tourism business: Dog-sled owners from Northern Norway down to Vågå in the mountains of central Norway have reported brisk business.
