Dog sledding can be enjoyed pretty much anywhere.
The Grand Mesa Summit Challenge Dog Sled Race takes place Jan. 18th and 19th., and local racers or “mushers” for short, are hard at work training for the annual race.
The race begins at the Mesa Top Trail Parking Lot off Highway 65 at 8:30 a.m. both days.
KREX 5 spoke to a local musher who trains in the desert at the base of Mt. Garfield.
