A Fall festival for your dog: Beargrease hosts “Dogtoberfest”
Most fall festivals feature food, fun, and beer.
For one fall festival in Two Harbors, it is all about the dogs.
Organizers have dubbed the event "Dogtoberfest," and the dog puns do not end there.
"This weekend we're celebrating. It's time for the Beargrease family to come back. It's our musher registration, it's the kickoff to our year and so we try to kick it off with a bang," said Monica Hendrickson, Beargrease Spokesperson.
Beargrease held this canine celebration in Two Harbors Saturday, which is a first of its kind.
Hendrickson said it is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for the non profit.
"That is critical to our organization. That's how we pay for the purse. That's how we pay for our expenses to hold our race in January," Hendrickson said.
In addition to the Dogtoberfest party, man can run with their best friend in a 5k, or as they call it a "FUR K."
