Conditions:
There was a snowmobile race at the Crandon track the week before as well as
warmer weather and they rode on a lot of the trail. This made it extremely hardpacked and
with sub-zero temperatures the week before the race, even the groomer could not fix it as
we only had a little snow.
The drivers voted that it was too unsafe, especially further out, so everyone the 4-dog trail. If you wanted to see dogs fly down a trail, you should have seen the 10-dogs (although all but one ran eight). It was really too bad, as it's a great spectator race as you can see a lot of it.
The temp. was 5 below
Friday night and went to about 20 on Sat. with light snow.
Sunday was in the mid-twenties for a high and overcast.
